General Meeting
The May meeting will be an in-person and virtual event at the San Jose Vista Center for the Blind on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. Lunches will be available from Subway the way it used to be with the same menu. Issues people have had with their lunches are always addressed. When scheduling your ride home, please choose a window no later than 12:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Thank you.
The meeting will also be available through Zoom for those who can't attend in-person. The Zoom information is below and is also in the Event Calendar section of the newsletter.

Program
May: Practices in Mindfulness, Speaker Joining Meeting Virtually on Zoom
Linda MacLeod has arranged for Maighna Jain to join us virtually to present a program on mindfulness. Linda, who is an attorney, has attended one of the speaker's sessions, and she found that it focuses on the importance of taking the time to be aware of and live in the present rather than being regretful about the past or anxious about the future. It has helped Linda tremendously when she is confronted with the often daily stresses of living as a blind or low-vision individual.
Picnic Reminder
David Hoffman is collecting payment for the September 21 picnic to be held at MARTIAL COTTLE, EDITH LESTER SITE. Cost is $20 for SVCB members and $25 for guests. When reserving your spot, provide David with your meat choices, hamburgers and hot dogs.
